Homecoming - my Solo Show is Open!
“In a true reflection of the word Homecoming, this exhibition is Leo du Feu's return to his Linlithgow roots. In the gallery rooms there will be both contrasts and connections to the artist's many journeys by rail including paintings based on his home town of Linlithgow. The collection will also include artworks from his annual summer residency on the Isle of May and his newly emerging work based on experiences of fatherhood and emotional well-being. This exhibition is the artist's full acknowledgement of the excitement and unknowns within the processes of creative painting practice.” - Linlithgow Burgh Halls Gallery
My biggest ever solo exhibition, Homecoming, is now open!
The opening evening was wonderful, in the beautiful big bright Burgh Halls Gallery in the historic heart of Linlithgow.
I was ecstatic to spend those hours surrounded by so many special people from so many parts of my life.
Collectors, followers, school friends, my primary school gym teacher, my secondary school art teacher (thank you for the champagne, Mrs Calder!), my childhood doctor, artist friends and colleagues, art college friends, Isle of May friends, Burntisland friends. My boys and Jennifer, my parents, my brother, my uncle and aunt, and more and more!
Thank you so much everyone for helping to make my opening night so special.
And thank you so much to everyone who has visited Homecoming since, and to everyone who has got in touch to tell me their experiences of seeing the show. I feel so connected and excited, and so honoured, when I hear how my art moves you and connects with you. Please keep getting in touch!
The Opening Night:
I commissioned brilliant photographer David N. Anderson to document the opening night.
Thank you for the photos David, I love them so much. They’ll keep this most special of night alive for me for decades to come.
Here they are.
